Both Good and Bad

My team had a game in Hamlin. Our first team wanted a win really bad because our record was 0-3, but our second team was feeling good because we one our first game.

In the first quarter the score was really low at the end it was 6-3. We scored more points in the second quarter as the score was 14-8 (we were winning) at halftime. We had a lot of momentum at the half, but it all went to them in the third quarter. We could not score on offense, and our defense was struggling. In the fourth quarter we made it a one possession game. It stayed that way until there was one minute left then they went up by five and that is how the game ended

The second was back and forth the whole way. In the second half we got a lead up to six then they came back and had a 2 point lead. At the 1 minute mark Marshall got his feet set and shot a three that gave us a one point lead. Then Kellen made 2 free throws to seal the deal.

Go Jacks!

This blog is about the time when I went to Fargo the SDSU Jackrabbits play the NDSU Bison. It starts in the morning when I was on my way to Fargo, it felt like forever, but we finally made it to Fargo. To start off the day we went to Buffalo Wild Wings to watch some football games and eat some wings. Then we went to the tailgating spot to have some fun! It felt awkward because I was the only non-Bison fan there.

At about 1:30 we thought it was time to go to the stadium. There wasn't a big line so we got inside really early. We decided to go walk around to waste time. Then at 2:15 we went back to our seats. Then the next part was the coolest experience I ever had! The lights turned off and it was pitch black. Then the crowd roared, VERY LOUD! Then on the big screen It showed words and a voice saying the is a severe thunderstorm warning and to take shelter emedietly( it was all part of the routine). Then moments later the team stormed onto the field and the stadium was even more nuts.

The game started and the Jackrabbits were storming down the field. They got to the one-yard-line and could not score a touchdown. They went for it on forth down and didn't get it. On NDSU's first possession they scored a touchdown. Then on their next possession they scored a field goal and at halftime the score was 10-3. Sadly on the Bison's first possession of the second half the scored a touchdown to make the score 17-3, at this point I honestly thought that the game was over, but boy I was wrong. On their second possession they scored a touchdown to make the score 10-17. Their next possession they kicked a field goal. Both teams had back-to-back possessions where they didn't score. Then on the last possession game SDSU was marching down the field. Then on fourth down with 4 seconds left Jackrabbits caught a pass for the game winning touchdown. I was in so much relief, I couldn't even stand I was so nervous.

Skol Vikings

Yesterday I was up early because I didn't want to be tired for the game. I started the day by going outside at 9:00. It wasn't warm outside but I that won't stop me from getting exercise. I went back inside to warm up and watch some television before the game. It was minutes away from game time and I was really pumped!

I was nervous because they were playing the Panthers and they looked pretty impressive this season. On their first drive the Panthers kicked a field goal. Minutes later they score a touchdown. The vikings had o punt again, but the punt landed on the five-yard-line. They sacked Cam Newton and got a safety which is two points. Later that quarter they had a punt return for a touchdown, but Blair Walsh missed the PAT. They score at halftime was 8-10, Panthers were winning.

On the vikings first possession of the second half they scored the touchdown to make the score 16-10. The rest of the game was all Minnesota. Scoring two more field goals and the defense holding strong. The final score of the game was 22-10, it was one of the best games the Vikings had played. The defense had 8 sacks which is really amazing in the NFL! I just wish they could play like that every week, their defense would scare every team they played.

Next week the Vikings play the Giants, who they crushed last year 49-17. Can't wait to watch them the rest of the year! Thanks for reading my blog, I wish I could blog more, but I don't have enough time. I hope you enjoyed reading my blog, I will try to be consistent with my blogs.

GRA 2K16

Skyping with people from other countries is very exciting. That is what the Global Read Aloud is all about. I was kind of nervous at first to skype with the other classes, but after we did it the first time it was really fun. We get to ask questions about what they think about the we are reading called Orbiting Jupiter. We also get to ask questions about their life, their culture, and what they like to do for fun.

We chose the book Orbiting Jupiter because our teacher thought it would be a good book for all of us to read. The book is about an Eighth Grade boy who has a child named Jupiter, and he became a foster child and now lives with a nice family on a farm. He's not able to see Jupiter, but that didn't stop him. I think the book is confusing at first then I started to understand more as the story went on. In my opinion it is one of the best books I have read, and we aren't even done!

I thought it was a great idea to use GRA, because we can find out what kids around the world think about the book we are reading. We have also been using a website called Padlet, where you can post answers to questions and you can see what the other classes put as answers. I thought it was a great idea because you can compare your answers with other students.

Thank you for reading my blog today, I hope you enjoyed reading about the Global Read Aloud and Padlet. If you are a student you should encourage your teachers to use it. Trust me, you would like talking to the other class rooms around the country or the world.

Welcome

Welcome to my new blog! I am exited to write for you! In my blogs I will be writing about sports, reading, school, and my life out of school. I hope these topics will entertain you as much as they entertain me.

In this next paragraph you will be learning more about me and what I like to do for fun. Right now I am in seventh grade and we all know how that can be. I am a HUGE South Dakota State fan and I am going to the game this weekend. When I read in school am pretty picky about what I will read about. I have read the middle School series, Diary of a Wimpy Kid, and the I survived series. When I am out of school and not doing homework I like to go to the park and play with friends. Something I really like to do is  go to the football field and play football with my friends.

The sports I play are football, basketball, baseball, bowling, and track. In football I play wide receiver and corner back. In basketball I play wing which it the person outside the three-point-line. In baseball I play Outfield, pitcher, second and  third base, shortstop, and catcher.

Thank you for reading my first blog! I hope you learned enough about me. I hope you keep tuning in and read my next blog.
